to a place called 2nd home

assalamualaikum w.b.t...

two months.

it feels strange to think that it has only been two months since i first came here - a place far from home, unfamiliar in almost every way.

back then, it was simply a place i had to go to.
a place i  was posted to.
a place separated from everything familiar, from the people i loved, and from the comfort of home.

came here with uncertainty, carrying only what i needed, not really knowing what these days would bring.

and somehow, somewhere between the long working hours, random conversations, shared meals, exhausting shifts, laughter in between chaos, and the simple kindness of people around me, this unfamiliar place slowly became something else.

it became a place i could breathe in.
a place that started to feel warm.
a place i could call my second home.

along the way, I met so many beautiful souls.

people who were once strangers.
people whose stories i did not know.
people who started with nothing more than a small “hi” in the corridor.

and now, somehow, some of them have become people i look forward to seeing every day.

from a little hi,
to conversations,
to laughter,
to shared exhaustion,
to checking on one another after difficult days

and eventually, to becoming a small family away from family.

perhaps that is one of the most beautiful things about life.
sometimes, we are sent somewhere we never planned to be, only to discover that there are people there whom we never knew we needed.

two months ago, this was just a place far from home.
today, it carries familiar faces, familiar voices, memories, laughter, kindness, and a little piece of my heart.

home will always be home.

but i am learning that sometimes, He gives us another kind of home along the way - built not from walls or distance, but from the people who make an unfamiliar place feel a little less lonely.

Alhamdulillah for the journey.
Alhamdulillah for the beautiful souls i have met.
and Alhamdulillah for turning a place far from home into a place i can now quietly call my second home.

a new beginning

 assalamualaikum w.b.t...

a new beginning isn't the abscence of fear

it is choosing to move, even while your heart still lingers on the places it once called home

i didn't arrive here with all the answers..
only with a heart full of prayers,
a suitcase carrying pieces of yesterday,
and hope quietly tucked between them..

there is beauty in not knowing.
in allowing life to unfold before trying to understand it;
in trusting that even the roads we never planned
can lead us exactly where we're meant to be..

so here I am -
standing at the edge of another beginning,
grateful for what I've left,
curious about what's ahead,
and gently learning that faith often arrives
long before certainty does.

a new journey .

may it shape me kindly.
may it humble me deeply.
may it lead me exactly where Allah has written my name

till then, i'll keep walking
with faith before answers
with gratitude before understanding
with Allah before everything else

and when in doubt, say bismillah 🤍
